One of Those Nights

from Led Into the Woods by The Amboys

/

lyrics

It was one of those nights. Where the whiskey goes down like water. One of those nights that you don't have to try any harder. To get them to do all the things you want them to. Wherever you want them to. To let him or her know. You don't need them anymore.

You put on you best clothes and you shine up your shoes. Head down to the bar with all the ladies and the dudes. See a friend of a friend you'd really like to know. Ask them if they want to go. Back to yours or mine. We'll have a good time.

So what if I don't know your first name. Who cares if I don't know your last. It only matters where here together so we better make our time last.

You get up in the morning. You get up weird. Share the same story that brought you here. Go down to the diner for coffee and eggs. And promise to stay friends. It's just another cost of love that's lost.

You're putting yourself into different situations. First time in awhile that you've had no expectations. Sometimes different and new can be good but when you don't think that you should. Is when you come to see. Where you should really be.

When you think that you've made a mistake. Pencil's have erasers. That's what they say. Want to make your way back. Better tell them today.

The ambitious group of bandits has been spotted up and down the east coast kicking down the doors of local whiskey bars, concert halls, and lottery-laden lounges alike. Like a lucid dream locomotive The Amboy’s set lists are more like Ransom notes that have only one demand: DANCE DAMMIT. ... more
