Ashley, you don't know me. I don't know you. But I want to. Ashley, please believe me. Thought I don't know you. I'm going to. Pretty little girl, let me take you. Down to the town hall to the fireman's ball. I'll hold you close. Hold you so tight. Never let you go for all of the night. Ashley, you don't know me. I don't know you. But I want to. Ashley, please believe me. Thought I don't know you. I'm going to. We would walk fast. We could walk slow. And it wouldn't even matter. We've got no place to go. I'll take you down, to the river's edge. Make that end. More like a bed. And the wolves cry in the night. I'm sane, are you alright.

Worrisome 04:02
Dirty thoughts are on my mind, my pen's been working over time. Shouldn't think of you in that way, it's not right. I've been good and I've been bad. Between a sinner and a saint I've been doing the best I can. But I ain't got no halo right now. Over and under, side to side, you shake you hips and you shoot me a smile. Flutter your eyes, lick your lips. Come on girl and give me that kiss. Friend of a friend and now my friend. Should've waited for yours to meet its end. Thinking of the next time I could see you again. Wondering what you look like, with no clothes, in my mind so nobody knows. And like Nick Lowe said "so it goes".... So it goes. Over and under, side to side, you shake you hips and you shoot me a smile. Flutter your eyes, lick your lips. Come on girl and give me that kiss. Breathe you in and breathe you out. Wonder who I should really be thinking about. But I don't seem to see her around. No I don't seem to see her. Over and under, side to side, you shake you hips and you shoot me a smile. Flutter your eyes, lick your lips. Come on girl and give me that kiss. Try not to pick up the phone and dial. You, in the middle of the night. Feels so wrong but feels so right.

It was one of those nights. Where the whiskey goes down like water. One of those nights that you don't have to try any harder. To get them to do all the things you want them to. Wherever you want them to. To let him or her know. You don't need them anymore. You put on you best clothes and you shine up your shoes. Head down to the bar with all the ladies and the dudes. See a friend of a friend you'd really like to know. Ask them if they want to go. Back to yours or mine. We'll have a good time. So what if I don't know your first name. Who cares if I don't know your last. It only matters where here together so we better make our time last. You get up in the morning. You get up weird. Share the same story that brought you here. Go down to the diner for coffee and eggs. And promise to stay friends. It's just another cost of love that's lost. You're putting yourself into different situations. First time in awhile that you've had no expectations. Sometimes different and new can be good but when you don't think that you should. Is when you come to see. Where you should really be. When you think that you've made a mistake. Pencil's have erasers. That's what they say. Want to make your way back. Better tell them today.

Trees 03:19
We grow tall and we grow high. Reaching for that spirit in the sky. We bloom when we want to. The seasons change and we do what we do. Do what we do. No we don't choose. What we do. Leaves of color, leaves of green. Brothers and sisters look up to see. Made of paper, made of paste. Everyone's looking our for us these days. These days. We're more than paper and paste. Why can't we be. More like the tree. Proud and upright. To be a tree. Now that's the life. Sexually we plant our seed. We don't know love physically. The only one to give us love. Are all the dirty little hippies all on drugs. All on drugs. I don't care. Cause they give me hugs.

I want a real live bathing beauty in a tub. Show her what it's really like when we have fun. With dark brown eyes that could cut through porcelin. Skin so smooth like bullets in a gun. We could burn these bridges to the ground. Find your love in the lost and found. Spread these ashes all around. Even if you do or you don't, back or in front, they'll never change you. I want to take your picture and hang it on my wall. Staring back at me saying nothing at all. How could you say anything anyway. You're just a picture, trapped in glass behind a frame. We could burn these bridges to the ground. Find your love in the lost and found. Spread these ashes all around. Even if you do or you don't, back or in front, they'll never change you.

Water down the drinks. Turn on all the lights. It's close. It's close to closing time. Grab your girl by the hand. Hold her up so she don't fall down. Yes she's had too much tonight. By the light of the moon. And the stars in her eyes. She's dancing to the last song of the night. She went shot for shot. Thinks she's an astronaut. She keeps saluting me. And telling me all the things that I'm not. She keeps staring at the crowd. Wondering when its all going to go down. But she don't know. And we won't ever know. By the light of the moon. And the stars in her eyes. She's dancing to the last song of the night.

In the Woods 03:38
Once in my life I was head over heels. Took a long walk where I'd never been before. I felt just like a kid in the city for the first time. Then the darkness fell and I wasn't myself. The wolves cried out and the crickets began to shout. To the moon in the sky. Everyone knows there's no reason why. To be scared in the woods... Down here on the ground I am closer to hell. Than I am to the sky and to heaven on high. Out here in the trees. A place where no one can see. Sometimes I wish I took a different road. A different track. Counted all my blessings before I made my way back. Kneel down in the dirt. One more day on this earth. To be scared in the woods...

about

The Amboys Asbury Park

This is not a band, it’s a movement. The ambitious group of bandits has been spotted up and down the east coast kicking down the doors of local whiskey bars, concert halls, and lottery-laden lounges alike. Like a lucid dream locomotive The Amboy’s set lists are more like Ransom notes that have only one demand: DANCE DAMMIT. ... more
